I was let go last Friday…

It’s Monday now, and it’s starting to sink in.

It wasn’t a total surprise. If I’m honest, it’s been a long time coming. But even when you know, it still lands with a thud.

One moment, you’re in meetings and sorting through your to-dos—and the next, your Slack is silent, your email’s deactivated, and you’re just… staring at your desktop background like, “Huh. I guess that’s it.”

This isn’t a post to throw shade. Every story has multiple sides, and this is just mine. It feels worth sharing because I know I’m not the only one who’s been here. And also, writing this helps me process the weird little mix of feelings that keep showing up:

😶 Relief — because it was hard, and I held on longer than I probably should have.
😔 Sadness — for the things that didn’t go the way I hoped.
🌱 Hope — because now I can finally ask, “What do I really want next?”

Today, I’m doing very little, which is a lot for a Monday. I had breakfast. I went to the gym. I updated a thing or two on LinkedIn. I texted a friend. That’s enough.

If you’ve been here—or you are here—hi. You’re not alone. I’m figuring it out, too, and I’m gently reminding myself that it’s okay not to know what comes next. Something will.

💛 Thanks for reading. Feel free to reach out if you’ve got advice, a funny story, or just want to chat about what it’s like to restart.
